Hudson Street Wineries
Hudson Street Wineries is a cooperative TR close to the Russian River, walkable from the downtown Healdsburg Plaza. Originally the site of the historic Roma Wine Company, a winery founded in the late 1800′s, the Hudson Street Wineries has been carefully restored into a tasting lounge and private event space which is inside their barrel room. The event space, Studio Feast @ Hudson Street, can accommodate private parties up to 100 people; it is their historic barrel room and is also used for public events done by the cooperative.
Lavender surrounds the glass-paned door to the TR. The surprisingly large interior with soaring, high ceilings, cool, casual white-washed brick walls and long bar are belied by this entrance. The space is unexpectedly large and totally comfortable. The bar is expansive to accommodate the five boutique, limited-production wineries pouring here:
Bluenose Wines
Rocking Z Vineyard
Sadler-Wells Wines
Teira Wines
Willowbrook Cellars
For those guests who make the walk over from the Healdsburg Plaza or hitch a ride on the Hudson Street Wineries’ sponsored (seasonal/as possible) Bicycle Guy Transportation, wines can be shipped home or transported back to lodgings- they will graciously strive to make the purchasing easy!
I am told that the enthusiasm for wines and hospitality here borders on the effusive- hitting the Cork Dork Level. The Hudson Street Wineries often join forces with the Front Street Five and Davis Family wineries to total 13 wineries on the same historic block in part of the same historic building being conveniently open and working together- The Old Roma Station.
Here’s looking at you, kids.
