Roadhouse : Two guys, a pool table, some barrels and a passion for pinot
Heading downtown to Healdsburg, quite close to our Wine Road HQ, I visit Roadhouse Winery where I meet Eric Hall. One of our growing number of Urban Winery members, he opens the doors to me and reveals the Tasting Bar, comfy upholstered couch and chairs and- THE FAMOUS POOL TABLE. There is also a forklift and barrels- this is the real deal. Eric tells me about his aim to make the best pinots possible and support the local community, schools, charities and events by being present and pouring to help.
Eric tells me of his long-term friendship with the folks and family at Papapietro Perry Winery- these friendships, guidance and spirit ignited his veritable passion for excellence in pinot. His wines are ONLY available at the winery- he is looking at branching out a wee bit, but wants to carefully place his special wines. Right now he barely makes enough for the demand- he is hoping to expand his case production this year- good news for all of us pinotphiles! (That is an interesting moniker.)
Always more to follow!
