Stonestreet Alexander Mountain Estate

I love especially the winding, verdant approach to Stonestreet Alexander Mountain Estate, which ends in the stunning reveal of this largely-underground, state-of-the-art, winery facility.

Taken standing on Highway 128, close to the gates, looking west towards Stonestreet.

The gates are open....

Great trees, the shaded, leafy drive....

Getting closer....

Closer....

Eureka!

Stonestreet’s rugged 5100 acre Alexander Mountain Estate, just across the valley from the winery, with 400 separate vineyard blocks in the 800 acres planted to vines, produces spectacular, high-elevation wines, and can be visited by guests with a number of offerings that include tours, tastings and spectacular picnic lunches.  There is also a Wine Club, the Pinnacle Program, with even more insider opportunities for members; at Stonestreet you will experience the pinnacle of the mountain, the pinnacle of quality and the pinnacle of warm, friendly hospitality.  Though the winery is very impressive in its architecture, size and placement in the Valley, the wines, hospitality staff, fun TR and spectacular terrace make this a friendly, accessible winery that you can call your own.  Wine education in a relaxed setting, with very wine-knowledgeable staff is the focus here. The Alexander Mountain Estate watches over the winery and is a constant reminder of the difference that high-elevations and volcanic, rocky soils make: intensely colored and intensely flavored grapes and wine.  The complexities are delicious.

Cool mini-version of the Alexander Mountain Estate in the TR.

Inviting, warm....

The view east from the Terrace; great spot to sip wine.

Attention to detail....

Lead me down this lovely garden path...

Here’s looking at you, kids.
