Stuhlmuller Vineyards
Stuhlmuller Vineyards is a hidden gem, secreted away in the Alexander Valley where that valley converges with the Russian River and Chalk Hill AVA’s, surrounded by estate vineyards, framed with spectacular red roses, resting against the Russian River.

Heading out Alexander Valley Road and then right, south, on West Soda Rock Lane just prior to the AV Bridge, it is a lovely 2 miles to the winery. Breathtaking vistas.
The modern, striking TR, is graced with an imposing Grizzly bear painting, a nod to the Stuhlmuller passion for all things Cal (my alma mater!), cool fixtures, an efficient Barrel Room behind glass and comfortable spots to sit at the bar and at the table. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are always welcomed. (Open Friday – Monday 10:30 – 4:30.) Tours are cool, including the Barrel Room as well as the outdoor tanks, viewable from the ground and from a high catwalk. Picnic area, great furniture and umbrellas, surrounded by roses, is choice- purchase a bottle of a current release and enjoy!
Very peaceful out here; quiet of the countryside is evident, lots of birdsong audible. The river is close, marked by a row of red, ornamental plum trees. Delicious wines, a perfect setting and warm hospitality make this Heaven off the beaten track.
Here’s looking at you, kids.
